The Doernbecher x Women’s Nike Dunk High “Macey” is a collaboration by Portland, Oregon based Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Nike on a colorway of the retro shoe designed by Macey Bodily. The Doernbecher Freestyle collection by Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Nike has produced some of the most creative colorways of classic Nike and Jordan shoes over the years, and the Dunk High by Macey is no exception. The shoe features details inspired by her brave journey as a brain cancer survivor. Specifically, the upper has a white leather base and textile floral-print overlays that were hand-painted by Macey. A pink suede Swoosh logo appears on the sides, while a grey ribbon graphic can be seen on the lateral side of the heel as a nod to her status as a cancer survivor. Macey adds a special touch to the design of the tongue tag, with a chocolate chip cookie graphic replacing the Dunk’s standard “Nike” logo. Underfoot, the midsole features the inspirational catchphrase “She believed she could so she did” on the heel. Release date: December 2, 2023
